The misaki (御先神) is one of many beings summoned by the gods who protect the land of Japan. These beings allow the transformation of a chosen girl to a magical girl. After choosing a girl to designate as the protector of a particular locale, a misaki can become the magical girl's teacher, friend, servant or partner.
A misaki usually bears a motif related to his corresponding locale.
